Evie Morin
Potsdam, Germany
Evie grew up between the Salish Sea and the Comox Glacier, in the town of Comox, which is located on the territory of the K’ómoks First Nation (in what is now known as Canada).
She studied geography and resource and environmental management, with a focus on local knowledge systems. Since 2019, she has worked as a Planning Associate at EcoPlan International, located on the territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. There, she had the privilege of collaborating with several First Nations, supporting their self-governance and self-determination journeys, while fostering good working relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous governments.
In 2022, she joined the Research Institute for Sustainability, contributing to projects co-led by Indigenous partners that focus on ethical Arctic research, with a particular emphasis on implementing co-creative and Indigenous-led approaches.
