https://en.uit.no/news/article?p_document_id=787648CO-CREATE contributors met in Alta for a writing retreat to structure the EU Service Grant roadmap and discuss four thematic chapters. The chapter topics include (1) Indigenous Peoples’ right to self-determination as steering high-quality Arctic research, (2) methods and methodology, (3) Indigenous engagement in EU Arctic research funding structures and decision-making, and (4) funding for co-creative and indigenous-led Arctic research. Small groups discussed challenges and obstacles, needs and opportunities, a vision, and key recommendations for each chapter. The retreat aimed to not only produce a policy brief but also build relationships, share stories, and learn about Sámi object repatriation, collaborative projects, and language.
EU-PolarNet 2 received funding for this project from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101003766.
